  Introduction
 

Global College of Management (GCM) is an English medium co-educational institution. The College has been running +2 (Management), and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) programs. It is affiliated to both Higher Secondary Education Board and Tribhuvan University.

The primary aim of the College is to prepare higher, middle and junior level human resources to meet the needs of business, industry and government in different functional areas of management. GCM’s programs aim to facilitate the students to work as proficient managers in most competitive business environment. The students will be able to work as managers in business, industry, government and non-government sectors, in areas like accounting, marketing, finance, general management, hotel management, and travel and tourism.

The College is located at Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Both +2 and BBS programs are running in the morning and day shifts.

Professional Educators Limited (Pro-Ed Ltd.) is a publicly incorporated company founded by a group of scholars and entrepreneurs. It plans to involve a large number of professionals in its mission to ensure good education for the young generation. Prof. Dr. Prem Raj Pant

Dr. Pant is Professor of Management at the Central Department of Management, Tribhuvan University. He has long experience of teaching, research and educational administration. Dr. Pant has worked as a management and research consultant with many national and international agencies. He has also worked as an examiner of doctoral research of many Indian Universities. Dr. Pant has to his credit many books, research articles and seminar papers. He has also lectured at a number of universities outside Nepal.

Prof. Dr. Pushkar Bajracharya

Dr. Bajracharya is a Professor of Management, Central Department of Management at the Tribhuvan University for the last 32 years. He has studied in Nepal, United Kingdom and India. He has conducted a large number of research works and published papers both in Nepal and abroad. He was also a visiting Professor at Department of Economics, Dalhousie University,Canada.

Prof. Dr. Mohan Bikram Gyawali

Dr. Gyawali is Professor of Chemistry at Tribhuvan University for the last 32   years. At present, he is Executive Director of Research Centre of Applied Science and Technology (RECAST), Tribhuvan University. He has studied in Nepal, USA and Japan. He has published several research papers and articles in journal of national and international repute. He was also a visiting professor at Tel Aviv University, Israel (1992-94), Trent University, Canada (1995), Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Japan (1998-1999).

Dr. Tilak Rawal

Mr. Rawal did Ph.D from Dhaka University, MS from University of the Philippines, M.A. from Tribhuvan University and Profit Analysis in the United States. He is former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. He has managed several institutions within Nepal and worked for several international bodies such as the World Bank, ADB, OECD, FAO, UN, ESCAP as a consultant on numerous occasions. He has written dozens of articles/papers for presentation at numerous national and international seminars. His recent publication, a book, is entitled “Corporate Governance and Financial Sector Reform in Nepal”.

Prof. Dr. RadheShyam Pradhan

Dr. Pradhan is Professor at Central Department of Management, Tribhuvan University. He has served as Visiting Fulbright Faculty to the College of Business, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA. He has visited University of Hong Kong and Rikkyo University, Tokyo, Japan as a Research Scholar. He has also delivered invited guest lectures at different national and international colleges and university including Utkal University, India and Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, Orlando, USA.

Prof. Dr. Madhav Prasad Koirala

Dr. Koirala is Professor of Management and currently the Program Co-coordinator at M. Phil in Management Program, Tribhuvan University. He has studied in Nepal, England and India. He has been teaching at post-graduate level for the last 28 years. He has published several papers, and also authored and coauthored research and text books.

Prof. Dr. Azaya Bikram Sthapit

Dr. Staphit is Professor at Central Department of Statistics, Tribhuvan University. He is a renowned statistician in Nepal. He has published several books and several articles. He has studied in Nepal and India. He has published several research papers in journals in Nepal, India and abroad. His paper on Sampling was awarded “The Best Paper Award” in India in 1996. He has also presented research papers in national and international seminars and conferences. He is also involved in several projects as a consultant.

Dr. Bihari Binod Pokharel

Dr. Pokharel is an Associate Professor of Management at Tribhuvan University for the last 26 years. He has published several articles on several magazines and journals. He has also worked as consultant for different national and international projects. He has also served as the Campus Chief of Nepal commerce Campus, Minbhavan and also Principal of Global college of Management.

Mr. Narayan Prasad Sharma

Mr Sharma is Principal of Budhanilkhantha School, Kathmandu. He studied in the United Kingdom and Nepal. He has teaching experiences of about 30 years in several schools. He has worked as an expert in different curriculum committes and educational projects. He has participated in various national and international seminars and conferences.

Mrs. Pramila Singh

Mrs. Singh is the founder Principal of English Preparatory School. She is continuously involved in educational field for the last 34 years. She is also actively involved in several social activities in Nepal.

Mr. Shiva Raj Pant

Mr. Pant is the chairperson of LRI Higher Secondary School (Trustee), Chairperson of Little Stars High School and Patron of Sun Rise High School. He has been actively involved in educational field for last 28 years. He has received best teacher award, Kathmandu District Education Award, National Education Award, Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu for his high degree of contribution to the field of education.

  10+2 Program
 

The 10+2 program is affiliated to the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) of Nepal. GCM has been running this program since 1992. The College offers a wide range of subject combinations in management at an affordable fee structure. To meet its mission and goals, the college is well-equipped with all sorts of infrastructures which make it stand differently in the market. Since majority faculties are the core stake holders of PRO-ED and are thus dedicated to achieve the mission and goals which ultimately benefit the students.

  BBS Program
 

BBS at GCM stands as a special academic program for certain reasons like availing the best available academic faculties, corporate networking for practical training, a very conducive academic environment for concentrated studies and caring guidance. These are such noteworthy features that surely pave the way towards academic excellence in any student’s career.

GCM takes care of its students in preparing them academically very strong to meet the rigorous and demanding market challenges. To meet this arduous task the college has been providing all the necessary tools to both faculties and students in different ways such as periodical seminars on burning trade and commerce related issues and frequent market analysis to keep abreast all the fast changing scenario. By nature BBS is a multidisciplinary and result oriented management studies, it runs small scale short term research activities at this level and thus allows active participatory approach in understanding business and management issues at home and abroad. These efforts are all geared to produce competent human resources as per market need. 

The Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) program at GCM is affiliated to Tribhuvan University. The College has been very successfully conducting the BBS program since 1998.

It is a matter of great pleasure that Mr. Amit Rayamajhi of this College achieved the first position in the nation-wide BBS exam of T.U. in the year 2004. Amit’s success is indeed a measure of the quality of management education we offer at GCM.

  MBS Program
 

MBS, affiliated to Tribhuvan University, at GCM has become a special academic activity. The very first year intake of students has become a hundred percent success with its 30 students enrollment. Last year’s BBS topper coming into this program signals the trust for GCM’s commitment to be a center for management studies of theirs. The faculty members of this program are well known in the academics.  Prof. Dr. Prem Raj Pant heads the program  with an excellent team of academicians having some considerable reputation in their respective fields of teaching and research.

GCM runs its 10+2 and Bachelor programs as per following schedule:
Morning Shift: 6:40 to 11:00 A.M. (both in winter and summer)
Day Shift
:  11:15 AM to 03:30 P.M.

   
  Writing and Publishing
 

GCM regularly offers writing competitions throughout the year. In such programs students themselves involve and publish the works of merit in newsletters and college magazine.

   
  Industry Visits and Internships
 

The College has established friendly official links with many business houses in and out of Kathmandu valley so that our students can visit them and learn about various aspects of their operations. These types of industrial visits help to build up self confidence as well as gain practical uses of their study. GCM will manage industrial visits to the students of business studies, hotel management, travel and tourism. In addition, we organize a wide range of contests like debates, quizzes, music, singing etc. We try to provide something for everyone!

Library

GCM provides an up-dated rich library facility to facilitate the process of teaching and learning. It has a good collection of books, periodicals, videos and CD-ROMs and a growing collection of audio-visual materials beside access to E-library.

Computer Lab

GCM Computer Lab is technically well-equipped with all sorts of modern means of communication.

Cafeteria

GCM cafeteria offers good meals and snacks at subsidized rates. It serves hygienic foods to the College students and staff.

Transportation

Global College runs a number of buses for easy transportation of students in and around ring road at a very reasonable charge.

 

 
  Sports and Social Events
 

Sports and related facilities are of high standard and meet all sorts of interests. There are many popular sporting programs, coaching activities and events. Competitive sporting events are held in the form of regular inter-section matches and there are many opportunities for students to develop their fitness and health in non-competitive areas. Our students also participate in a lot of social events that include parties and celebrations. Our Student Officer will make sure you can get involved in these activities.
