Memorial College |
Bhanubhakta Memorial College (BMS) was established
in 1967A.D. in an honor of our late national poet,
Bhanubhakta Acharya. Since its inception, the school
has been striving to impart quality education to
its students, with the hope that they will acquire
the academic qualification and gain the skill and
confidence required to face the competitive world
of tomorrow.
In its thirty years of operation, BMS managed
to carve a niche for itself by virtue of the consistently
high pass rate in the National Examinations. Many
of the students of this school have secured positions
in the overall S.L.C Board Examinations. BMS has
come a long way since its modest beginning in a
rented building. Today it can boast of its own spacious
buildings and school ground. At the request of the
guardians and the public, BMS has decided to start
the 10+2 program from 1997 in the field of Science
and Commerce, affiliated to the Higher Secondary
Education Board (Government of Nepal). These higher
education programs at Bhanubhakta Memorial College
(BMC) are being implemented and managed by Nepal
Education Foundation (NEF).

NEF has been established by a group of experienced educationists, who are deeply committed to the cause of promoting quality education in the country. The educationists as well as the entrepreneurs, who are promoting the Educational Institutions under the umbrella of NEF, intend to make these institutions centers of excellence, at par, if not better than the well known and reputed educational establishments in India and elsewhere.
NEF’s program of an all-round education of the highest quality aims to develop responsible citizens and a generation of highly motivated and complete work force.

▪ To replace stereo typed teaching by more innovative teaching that are geared towards the overall development of students.
▪ To counsel the students for the right choice of academic career by accessing the individual interest and potentialities, so that they no longer remain in dilemma.
▪ To endow the students with the ability to observe, experiment, investigate, hypothesize, interpret results and utilize his/her creative potentials on the completion of class XII.
▪ To mould the students toward the total personality development making them into becoming responsible individuals.

Bhanushree Award (Gold Medal)
This Award is offered to the students of class XII who have above 80% score in Science and above 75% in Commerce in the aggregate of HSEB Final Examination.
Term Topper Award is given to the Class Topper of each class in the Terminal Examinations. The award winner will get 3 months full scholarship.
ECA Awards are given to student who participates in the ECA events will get medals, certificates and souvenirs.
Students organize Fresher’s Welcome & Farewell Programme observing different cultural and musical shows.
The College and Students Council observe NEF Day programme organizing games, sports and other talent competition.
The College and Student Council organize Talent Show with a view to project the hidden talent of the students.

• Classrooms are planned with comfortable single seating arrangements. There are a limited number of students in each class.
• Science Laboratories are well equipped and designed in 3 separate spacious halls specially designed by HSEB.
• Computer Lab has been included as a regular class in the weekly schedule.
• Students are provided Email and Internet facilities.
• Library is well equipped with a wide selection of reading and reference materials.
• Parent Teacher Meetings are organized on a regular basis. Such method has helped a lot accessing and sorting out the problem of the students.
• Scholarship policy such as, Freeship, Half-freeship and awards (for every term topper) are provided for academically bright and deserving students.
• The canteen is in operation with modified menus.
• Transportation is provided to and from the main points.
• Games & Sports are scheduled in weekly routines. Sufficient space for games such as badminton, volleyball, basketball and table tennis etc, are provided.
• Extra curricular activities are designed to promote the hidden talents of the students. Fresher’s welcome, NEF Day, Talent show, Farewell Program and Sports week are regular annual activities in the college.
• First Aid facility, such as sickroom, medical care and initial treatment are provided in the case of injury or illness.
• Complain and suggestion: A separate box is provided for the students, where they can drop their free and frank opinion, suggestion and complain if any.
• Individual care is our main concern. If a student is very weak in certain subjects she/he will be provided with individual care class provided he/she must show the willingness.
• Personal counseling is provided for those students who are academically weak and who are suffering from family stress as well as mental disturbances.

• Students who have passed the SLC or equivalent examination from a recognized Board may apply for the admission.
• The eligible candidate has to pass the entrance Examination conducted by the college.
• Preference will be given who has taken optional math in the SLC for science stream and who has taken accountancy for commerce stream.
• All NEF Colleges i.e. Bhanubhakta Memorial College (BMC), Little Angel’s College (LAC) and Xavier Academy (XA) have the common working days and holidays under a common Academic Calendar.
• The New Academic Session begins from 1st July terminates in June.
• Dashain-Tihar and winter vacations are the short breaks just after the Terminal Examinations.
• College will remain closed on Government Holidays*.
* Holidays are subject to be changed in adverse circumstances.
